How to create an All-Star sponsorship line up - The West Virginia Miners

The West Virginia Miners had a banner year for a number of reasons this 2018 season.  Most notably, this Beckley, WV collegiate summer baseball team increased their average home game attendance by a whopping 27% over 2017 to more than 1000 fans per game!  



They also raised a significant amount of new sponsorship revenue using the Micro Fantasy game-day experience


The Miners demonstrated how creating a variety of smaller community partnerships can pay off big time.  They sold Micro Fantasy sponsorship packages of 2-5 home games to 11 different corporate partners, including:


  • 4 restaurants,

  • 3 home improvement/repair companies,

  • 1 radio station,

  • 1 local optician,

  • 1 car dealership,

  • and 1 community bank

  • 14,481 play-by-play predictions were made by fans across the season.  This equals over 30,000 clickable sponsored screen views.

  • 492 total hours of play to 133 highly engaged fans

  • Each player made an average of 600 predictions

  • and played Micro Fantasy for an average of 3hrs 41 mins throughout the season.
