National Pro Fastpitch Season Off to Hot Start

The 2017 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) season kicked off in Chicago on June 1 with the first game of a three game series between the Chicago Bandits and Akron Racers. It was also the first game Micro Fantasy contests were offered during  a regular season National Pro Fastpitch game. Micro Fantasy contests were previously offered at the National Pro Fastpitch 2016 Championship Series and 2017 College Draft.

National Pro Fastpitch fans showed they were eager for the new season to start as well as participate in Micro Fantasy contests. Over one thousand fans were in attendance at The Ballpark at Rosemont for the opening game with very strong participation in the Micro Fantasy contests associated with the game. Not all participants were in attendance. Two were actually in Australia following the game remotely!

"We have a great partnership with National Pro Fastpitch, and we were very confident Micro Fantasy contests would have a level of high participation at their regular season games," said Micro Fantasy Founder and CEO Joel Crites. "We  expect participation to go even higher as the NPF season progresses."

Micro Fantasy contests will be offered for all Chicago, Akron and Beijing home games (at The Ballpark at Rosemont and Firestone stadiums only) during the NPF regular season.

Integrated Scoring Launched for PointSteak Clients

Last week was a great week for Micro Fantasy prediction contests. We offered the most contests in our history. This week, there are even more.

To make this happen, the outstanding Micro Fantasy development team integrated scoring updates through PointStreak. This service automatically feeds play-by-play results to the Micro Fantasy app in real-time allowing expansion to all collegiate summer and independent professional baseball leagues.

Crushers Look for Winning Ways in June Frontier League Play
The Lake Erie Crushers finished May on a down note with consecutive home losses to the Windy City ThunderBolts. They finished the month with a 7-11 overall record. The Crushers traveled to Joliet to take on the Slammers in the opening series of their June schedule. The Crushers won/lost two of three games against the Slammers. See the Micro Fantasy schedule below for upcoming Crushers games and associated Micro Fantasy contests.

Bandits, Racers Don’t Disappoint in Opening Series
The Chicago Bandits and Akron Racers were in mid-season form as they opened the 2017 NPF season over the weekend. Games were streamed for the first time on npf-tv.com. Several players got off to hot starts including Emily Carisone (Bandits; walk off hit to end game one), Natalie Hernandez (Bandits; 2-3 with two RBI in game two), Taylor Schlopy (Racers; two RBI in game two) and Ashley Thomas (Racers; two run homer in game three). The Racers’ Stacy May-Johnson came out of retirement and singled in her first at bat since 2011. See below for this week's schedule of NPF games.

Florida League Teams Dodge Rain Drops to Start Season
Typical hot and stormy Florida summer weather greeted Florida League teams as they began their 2017 seasons over the weekend. The first pitch of the league opener at Sanford Memorial Stadium on June 1 between the Sanford River Rats and Altamonte Springs Scorpions was delayed by rain, but the game was completed (a 5-4 Scorpions win). Despite more weather challenges over the weekend, most games were played. A full slate of Florida League games (and Micro Fantasy contests) are scheduled this week. See below for dates. Hopefully Mother Nature is a little more co-operative!
